Training Methodology

How We Train

Force-free and non-judgemental

At Infinite Possibilities, we embrace a force-free training methodology that prioritizes positive reinforcement and effective communication between you and your beloved companion. Our commitment to force-free training reflects our dedication to building strong, trusting relationships between you and your furry friend.

We do not use any aversive training tools and instead prioritize well-fitting harnesses, flat collars, standard and long line leashes, treat pouches, clickers, and enrichment games and activities.

We hold an inclusive perspective and acknowledge diverse training approaches. We bear no judgment toward those who choose to use alternative methods in an ethical manner. We believe in empowering you with knowledge and choices.

At Infinite Possibilities, our ultimate goal is to foster a harmonious relationship between you and your furry companion, ensuring a joyful and fulfilling partnership based on trust, mutual respect, and effective communication.

The Science of Force Free Training

A very brief explanation

At Infinite Possibilities, we are firm believers in the power of force free training, and there's a fascinating scientific foundation that supports its effectiveness. This methodology is rooted in behavioral psychology and has consistently demonstrated its ability to bring about lasting, positive changes in animal (and human) behavior.

Force free training operates on a simple principle: rewarding desired behaviors increase the likelihood of those behaviors being repeated. When we celebrate and reward your pet's good behaviors with treats, praise, or play, we're essentially reinforcing their understanding that these actions lead to positive outcomes. This positive association not only encourages immediate compliance but also contributes to the long-term retention of learned behaviors.

Neurologically, positive reinforcement triggers the release of feel-good neurotransmitters like dopamine, creating a positive emotional connection between your pet and the training process. Over time, this association enhances their motivation to engage and learn, fostering a deep bond of trust and cooperation between you and your pet.

What sets force free training apart is its emphasis on building a partnership based on respect, trust, and mutual understanding. Unlike aversive methods, which rely on punishment and correction, force free training focuses on teaching your pet what you want them to do rather than what you want them to avoid. This proactive approach not only results in happier pets but also helps prevent anxiety or fear-related behaviors that can stem from the incorrect use of punishment and aversive training tools.

We understand that every pet is unique, and their learning styles vary. That's why we tailor our training methods to match your pet's individual personality, needs, and abilities. Through the scientifically-proven techniques of positive reinforcement, we empower you to communicate effectively with your pet, creating a harmonious and joyful partnership that lasts a lifetime.
